Employment Law Basics

Outline
This is an introductory course to basic employment law for managers and supervisors.  It covers the main principles of the law as it affects the employment relationship.

Who is it for?
Managers and supervisors who have little or no prior knowledge of employment law.

Course objectives
By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:

• Understand the nature of the employment contract
• Have an awareness of the main statutes affecting the working relationship
• Understand their own duties and responsibilities as managers and employees
