Eleanor Halsall, BA, PGDipHRM, FCIPD, MCIL, MA Eleanor is a director of Smith Halsall. She is a chartered fellow of the CIPD, holds a postgraduate diploma in Personnel Management and has worked as an independent consultant in this area since 1999. Eleanor first trained as a facilitator (Moderator) nearly twenty years ago whilst working with Lufthansa and has since developed her own methods to work with different types of groups. A member of the Institute of Linguists, she speaks German, Hindi, French and Swedish. She combines her linguistic awareness with her professional experience advising in the workplace and is strongly committed to promoting greater cross-cultural awareness and workplace diversity. She is the co-author of a series of textbooks for the German publisher, Langenscheidt. In addition to its German version, Business English in 30 Tagen has now been translated into Polish, Romanian, Russian, Spanish and Ukrainian and continues to be one of Langenscheidt's best sellers. Eleanor is currently in her second year of PhD research in the Languages and Cultures Department at the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London. Her research focuses on Indo-German cinema between 1924-1939. |
